New screen printing rooms at the Bluecoat

Preparations continue in the wonderful new screen printing rooms: this week we are finishing off the screen storage shelving and home-built drying cabinet. (We are lucky to have Barry the gallery technician working on these with the lovely Tom.)

As you will already know if you receive the Bluecoat's print programme by post, the rooms open to the public on 1 March. Just think of it: not one, not two but three vacuum presses, space to coat and expose screens, drying cabinet, wash-out unit. Boy oh boy, we are spoilt.

The first course in the space begins on 23 Feb however so we're not slacking... Jane Spencer will be the first to teach in the space. Details are on the print programme for Spring 2010, which you will find elsewhere on this site or on the Bluecoat's website or on Emma Gregory's website. See links.

Here are some photos showing how the Liverpool John Moores' equipment looks in the two rooms: it's already looking fantastic.
