Field of Vision

You are warmly welcomed to join us for the reception of 'Field of Vision' – Walking the UK and USA on Friday 2nd March 2012.

The idea for Field of Vision was born out of a shared passion for walking. Two printmakers, two different ways of seeing but with one vision - to walk in each other’s respective homeland and respond to those landscapes through print.

In September 2010 Martha Oatway and Tracy Hill began 'Field of Vision' in
Lancashire where they planned 5 walks aroundPreston. In April 2011 they travelled to Washington DC to continue their project with 5 walks around the DC area.

As part of the Field of Vision project Tracy Hill took part on the residency programme at Pyramid Atlantic Art Center in Washington DC.During their visit in April 2011 Martha Oatway and Tracy Hill used the facilities at Pyramid Atlantic to begin making new works in responseto the walks done whilst in Washington DC.

Washington Printmakers Gallery hosted the opening of 'Field of Vision' in
December 2011 and the project was featured in both the local pressand international printmaking publications.

'Field of Vision' will now be exhibited in the Harris as part of the Guild Year celebrations The exhibition opens on Wednesday 8th February and runs until
April 14th 2012.

We look forward to seeing you on Friday 2nd March.
